On April 14th and 15th, 2024, a delegation from Jingmen Municipal Government led by Zhou Junjie, Vice Mayor of Jingmen Municipal Government, visited QMB in Indonesia for investigation and research, and on the morning of April 15th, the signing ceremony and on-site meeting of the cooperation between GEM and Jingmen Municipal People's Government to promote enterprises to go global and the cooperation of key nickel resources project was held, and the meeting was held simultaneously at QMB Park and Jingmen Park by live video. Zhou Junjie, Vice Mayor of Jingmen Municipal Government, Party Committee Secretary of Jingmen Hi-Tech Zone and Committee Secretary of Duodao District, Prof. Xu Kaihua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of GEM, and Ms. Wang Min, Co-Actual Controller and Director of GEM, attended the meeting. Chen Qifu, Chief Executive of Jingmen Doudao District Government, and Peng Yaguang, Deputy General Manager of GEM and General Manager of QMB, jointly signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on behalf of Jingmen Municipal People's Government and QMB respectively.

At present, the world's new energy industry is facing a global industry competition and the serious challenge of the involution. GEM Indonesia nickel resources project construction effectively protects GEM‘s strategic needs of nickel resources, which can effectively maintain GEM's leading position in the world's new energy materials manufacturing field. It will also help Jingmen City to build "the capital of lithium battery in central China", and comprehensively enhance the core competitiveness of Jingmen City in the field of power storage batteries. According to the cooperation agreement, Doudao District Government of Jingmen City will supprot GEM's investment and construction projects in Indonesia from industry, science and technology, culture and other aspects to promote GEM a new round of globalization development, and drive the globalization of Jingmen new energy industry chain, to achieve the dual cycle domestically and internationally.

During the on-site office meeting and signing ceremony, Chairman Xu Kaihua elaborated on the three historic significance of this signing ceremony. Firstly, this is a vivid case of the Chinese local government promoting the development of enterprises in Indonesia in the name of the government, and it is also the first case of the leaders of the Hubei local government personally visiting the site of the overseas project to promote the development of enterprises. Secondly, it marks that Jingmen has opened a door to the global development! It marks the move of Jingmen Municipal Government's emancipation of thinking, which is a major breakthrough behavior in the context of the current global competition in the industry. Thirdly, local governments in China have taken practical actions to promote friendly international cooperation between China and Indonesia, and to promote the investment and development of Chinese enterprises in Indonesia, which is precisely the fulfillment of the spirit of the talks between the heads of state of China and Indonesia, and is a concrete action to help create a model of cooperation between the two countries and a highlight project.

Afterwards, Chairman Xu Kaihua expressed his gratitude. "Warmth and hope are used to describe this beautiful April, and are also a true reflection of the Jingmen Municipal Government's support for GEM." Chairman Xu Kaihua firstly expressed his heartfelt thanks to the successive leaders of Jingmen Municipal Government for their support to GEM for more than twenty years, and especially thanked Vice Mayor Zhou Junjie and his delegation for visiting QMB to promote the construction of QMB project on the spot. He said, more than twenty years ago, GEM came to Jingmen, has realized the leap of output value from 0 to 100 million, from 100 million to 1 billion, from 1 billion to 10 billion, from 10 billion to 30 billion, achieving a historic success. Jingmen is the blessed place for GEM's development, and it is because of the success in Jingmen that GEM is successful in going global today. "Don't forget the person who dig the well when you drink the water", said Chairman Xu Kaihua, going global is for going domesticly better, driving a new round of great development of GEM Jingmen Park, and promoting the globalization of Jingmen new energy industry chain. Secondly, Prof. Xu Kaihua thanked the Indonesian employees. In the past five years, more than 5,000 employees working in the production and construction of QMB have made great contributions to the development of QMB and GEM's going global, which are the strong force for our development in Indonesia! Thirdly, thank all the construction teams and partners. They have built the world-renowned QMB Park through their hard work, and they are not only the heroes of Jingmen, but also the heroes of China's enterprises, and they are also China's most excellent overseas team. Chairman Xu Kaihua said that in the future, he will continue to lead the team of GEM and QMB to build QMB Park and realize a new round of globalization of GEM's Jingmen Park, in order to promote the cooperation between China and Indonesia, to realize the domestic and international dual-cycle in order to enhance the competitiveness of China's new energy industry in the world, and to contribute to the economic development of Jingmen and Indonesia.

Prior to the signing ceremony, GEM and Jingmen Municipal Government held an on-site promotion meeting for the new round of globalization development of GEM Jingmen Park in GEM Indonesia QMB Park and GEM Jingmen Park with the theme of "Smoothing Factors and Creating Competitiveness". The two sides started a brain storm on how to promote GEM Jingmen Park to realize a new round of development and domestic and international dual cycle under the current global competition pattern, and planned an overall solution for the development. At the promotion meeting, Chairman Xu Kaihua, analyzed the severe challenges GEM is currently facing such as overcapacity in the global industry, industry involution, global trade barriers, etc., and elaborated on the importance and urgency of unifying the mindset, unclogging the elements, comprehensively promoting the domestic and international dual-cycle, and participating in the global competition, and put forward the problems that GEM needs to solve to achieve the new round of development in the global industry competition. Jingmen high-tech zone party committee member, member of the standing committee of the Duodao District Committee, deputy Chief Executive of the district people's government, Guo Jianlin reported  Jingmen Duodao District's supprot to GEM in recent years, and put forward the next step of the government will be to serve the expansion of capacity, fully accelerate scientific and technological innovation, and fully promote the integration of industry and city. Jingmen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Municipal Bureau of Transportation, Municipal Natural Planning Bureau, Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau and other relevant municipal units will study the solution ideas and inform the advancement of the situation for the issues raised one by one.

At the end of the promotion meeting, Vice Mayor Zhou Junjie, expressed the determination of Jingmen Municipal Government to promote the development of GEM with five "smooth": "smooth thinking, smooth logistics, smooth heat, smooth emissions, and smooth green power". Smooth thinking, GEM is a responsible enterprise, in Jingmen did not waste an acre of land, and in constant innovation. Let the enterprise focus on the development; smooth green power, pay attention to the development of GEM photovoltaic power generation project, make full use of GEM's non-basic farmland of their flow of land, to solve the problem of photovoltaic laying land. Vice Mayor Zhou Junjie asked Jingmen City, Doudao District departments one by one to promote the development of solving GEM's problem, pay close attention to the implementation, and closely focus on the goal of helping GEM to build a world-class enterprise, all-round support GEM to accelerate the development of the recycling industry to promote the development of leading Jingmen to the world.
