On September 4, 2023, GEM announced a talent selection and incentive plan for 500 Indonesian young talents and 1,000 skilled Indonesian workers under its subsidiary, QMB New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as "QMB Park" or "the Park" hereafter). The plan aims to accelerate the talent cultivation and localization process in QMB Park, Indonesia. Professor Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM, attended the launch event.

In recent years, GEM has been committed to building a technology, intelligent, and green nickel resource factory in QMB to support the development of Indonesia's new energy industry. To achieve this vision, QMB has launched a talent selection and incentive plan for 500 Indonesian young talents and 1,000 skilled Indonesian workers. The goal of this plan is to cultivate and attract outstanding local talents in Indonesia to promote the development of QMB and provide strong support for Indonesia's national resource development and new energy industry.

Through this plan, QMB will select and cultivate 500 Indonesian young talents who will be regarded as future leaders in Indonesia's new energy and hydrometallurgy industry. They will be given important roles within GEM to develop their skills and become the core team members in various sectors of the Park, with opportunities to visit and learn from GEM's other parks in China. Additionally, the company will also select and train 1,000 skilled Indonesian workers in various professional fields to meet the production and construction needs of the Park and contribute to its operation and development.

The selection process will strictly follow the principles of fairness and impartiality, based on individual abilities and job performance, regardless of backgrounds or seniority. QMB will conduct an evaluation and appointment of Indonesian young talents every six months. In the selection process, the Park will focus on the comprehensive qualities and potential of talents to ensure that the most suitable talents are promoted and trained. Currently, after organizational review, the first batch of 65 Indonesian management professionals and young leaders have been promoted to significant management positions in their respective business sectors.

Professor Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM, stated that GEM had built a world-leading laterite nickel ore hydrometallurgy project in Indonesia and had promoted the development of hydrometallurgy technology. GEM also constructed the first metallurgical engineering and new energy materials technology innovation center of Indonesia, raising the level of Indonesian metallurgical technology. Additionally, GEM established the joint international master's program in metallurgical engineering with the Indonesian government and Central South University, facilitating science and technology, and cultural exchanges between China and Indonesia.

In the future, GEM will continue to expand its investment in Indonesia, establish a circular economy industrial park with a complete industrial chain from laterite nickel ore to new energy materials, and further encourage the participation of Indonesian local young talents. The talent selection and incentive plan for 500 Indonesian young talents and 1,000 skilled Indonesian workers will inject new vitality into the development of QMB, cultivate local talents for Indonesia's new energy and hydrometallurgy industry, and contribute to the national economic development of Indonesia with green power.
