At the 15th China Annual Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility hosted by Southern Weekly on July 28, 2023, GEM was ranked 17th among the 300 enterprises on the 2022 list of "Outstanding Responsible Enterprises". The award not only highly recognizes GEM's efforts in developing green recycling and fulfilling its social responsibility, but also provides models for more enterprises to fulfill their social responsibility.

Southern Weekly launched the "China CSR Research" program in 2003 in collaboration with a few domestic professional agencies, continuously monitor and evaluate enterprises' CSR performance. Over the past 20 years, the program has evaluated nearly 700 enterprises and released the "China CSR Ranking" annually, to effectively enhance the society's awareness and action of CSR fulfillment. The program, which enjoys a great reputation among enterprises and in the society for its fairness and impartiality, is one of the earliest, longest-running and most professional programs of its kind in China that covers the widest range of fields.

In recent years, GEM has actively responded to the national strategy of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, issued the Green Declaration to the world, helped achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality through green operations, innovation and cultural building, and made remarkable achievements.

In 2022, GEM made persistent efforts in promoting rural revitalization, supporting educational development, caring for disadvantaged groups, assisting in public healthcare, providing green public services and contributing to global development, thus achieving significant results in CSR fulfillment. It was listed among 2022 Forbes China Top 50 Sustainable Industrial Enterprises, was ranked 7th on the 2022 Hurun China Private Companies SDG Readiness 100 List, was selected as "ESG Practice Model of the Year 2022" at the 12th Philanthropy Festival, and won other awards.

Besides, GEM has kept improving its governance system, optimizing its internal control system, standardizing its operations and preventing emerging risks. It has established a top-down ESG governance structure, made clearer the responsibilities of all governance levels, infused the concept of sustainable development into corporate operation and management, constantly reviewed its sustainability performance, continuously strengthened ESG management, and deeply integrated the concept of sustainable development with its business operations.

GEM will stick to the philosophy of "Limited Resources, Unlimited Recycling", implement the concept of sustainable development worldwide, build harmony among the society, the environment and stakeholders, and contribute to the development of global green recycling.
