On the morning of May 27, 2021, QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project (controlled by GEM) welcomed three core equipment units.  

On May 15, three 560m3 autoclaves, as the core equipment of QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project hydro-metallurgy, were shipped from Morimatsu Wharf in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. The made-in-China major equipment traveled across the sea for 12 days and were successfully transported to the Bahadopi Wharf in Indonesia at 16:00 p.m. on May 26. The staff of QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project organized overnight to unload and transit of the equipment at the port.

QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project held on the morning of the 27th, representatives of QMB shareholders including the Tsingshan Industrial Park, IMIP, BRUNP Recycling and others, representatives of Fudong, Eagle and other constructors of the project, and the staff of QMB Indonesian Project, jointly witnessed the milestone of project construction.

The arrival and installation of the core equipment autoclaves mark that QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project has entered the substantive equipment installation stage, thus kicking off the prelude of the project construction into the fast track, which will effectively ensure the construction goal of “completing the construction of the project within 2021 and putting into operation at the beginning of 2022”.

On the project site, QMB employees were in high morale. With the pioneering spirit, they work hard to set off the climax of the construction of QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project. Not scared by the COVID-19 epidemic, they have overcome difficulties, race against the time, and “accelerate” the project construction. They are the “pioneer” for GEM to implement the strategic layout of global nickel resources. They are the true heroes to defend GEM’s core competitiveness in the global new-energy materials market in the future!
