On December 9th, ECOPRO’s Chairman Dong-che Lee of South Korea and his delegations visited the production of power battery-grade nickel chemicals (nickel sulfate crystals) from the laterite nickel ore invested and constructed by GEM in Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (hereinafter IMIP), Morowali, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia (50,000 tons of nickel per year) project (project company name: PT. QMB New Energy Materials hereinafter referred to as "QMB").

Chairman Dong-che Lee and the delegations visited the public and auxiliary facilities of the IMIP, including the port and power plant, accompanied by IMIP Chairman Wu Huadi, GEM Chairman Professor Xu Kaihua and General Manager of QMB Tang Honghui. The delegation also visited QMB site and testing center.

At the exchange meeting, QMB General Manager Tang Honghui introduced the basic situation of the park and the construction progress of the project. Chairman Dong-che Lee thanked GEM for the arrangement of his visit in Indonesia, expressed his is shocked of the achievements that IMIP has made so far in Indonesia, and highly respected the pioneering spirit of Chinese entrepreneurs led by Tsingshan Group!  Chairman Lee said that IMIP has invested in the construction of a complete infrastructure with good supporting conditions. Based on this, the GEM Indonesia Nickel Resource Project is fully able to operate successfully, efficiently and at low cost, and is confident in the GEM Indonesia Nickel Resource Project with expectation, I would like to thank GEM for its far-sightedness and hard work. On this trip to Indonesia, ECOPRO has strengthened its determination and confidence in strategic cooperation with GEM. And he will unswervingly cooperate with GEM and strategic cooperation and deepen cooperation. ECOPRO is willing to work together with GEM.

ECOPRO chairman Dong-che Lee and GEM chairman Prof. Xu kaihua exchanged views on current and future market trends, precursor supply, power battery recycling, and nickel raw material supply. The two parties will unswervingly implement strategic cooperation, combine forces, strengthen communication mechanisms, and jointly set up special classes to jointly build a global industry chain of "competitive materials-precursors-ternary materials-power battery recycling" of global competitiveness, and jointly respond to the global challenges for the adjustment of the new energy industry.
