Recently, the 2nd Supply Chain Sustainable Development and Innovation Conference, hosted by the China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC) and organized by the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), was held in Beijing. With the theme "Connecting Sustainability, Co-building a New Ecosystem — ESG Compliance, Innovation, and Value Creation in Supply Chains," the conference brought together representatives from government, industry, academia, and research institutions to explore new pathways for green and sustainable supply chain development. GEM, as one of the inaugural participating enterprises in the China Sustainable Supply Chain Service Platform (CSSCP), was invited to attend. Owing to its outstanding ESG practices, GEM received an AA-level rating—the highest domestic designation—and was among the first batch of enterprises to be awarded the "Sustainable Value Assessment Certificate for Supply Chain Enterprises," with its sustainable development performance highly recognized by a national authoritative body.

Top AA-Level Rating: ESG Performance Earns Authoritative Recognition
As China continues to strengthen green and sustainable supply chain guidelines, ESG compliance in supply chains has shifted from a "nice-to-have" to a "must-have" for high-quality development. As an inaugural participant in the CSSCP, GEM demonstrated exceptional performance across seven key ESG dimensions: organizational governance and business conduct, labor and human rights, environment and climate, product and customer responsibility, value chain responsibility management, operational resilience and innovation, and social impact and contribution. Following a rigorous review by the CQC, GEM earned the AA-level rating for its ESG performance and sustainable development—the highest rating among domestic enterprises—and received the first batch of "Sustainable Value Assessment Certificates for Supply Chain Enterprises." This authoritative recognition affirms GEM's high level of ESG governance and marks the company's establishment of a new industry benchmark in green supply chain development.

Comprehensive ESG Synergy Driving Steady and Long-term Sustainability
As a global leader in the new energy industry, GEM has always prioritized ESG at the core of its corporate strategy, driving the company's sustainable development across all fronts. The company has continuously improved its ESG governance structure, upgrading the former "Strategy Committee" under the Board of Directors to the "Strategy and Sustainability Committee," establishing the core position of ESG strategy decision-making and forming a three-tier sustainability governance architecture that connects the Board, the ESG Management Committee, and the ESG Management Committees of functions and subsidiaries, steadily elevating its ESG governance capabilities. The company has thoroughly implemented the operational guideline of "Compliance and Steadiness, Quality and Efficiency, Building Global Competitiveness," establishing a Compliance Operations Management Center and systematically deploying ten major upgrade projects. Four of the company's entities have passed ISO 37301 compliance management system audits for two consecutive years, with the certification scope successfully expanded to nine areas, effectively integrating compliance management into every aspect of production and operations.
In its international practice, the company adheres to a flexible globalization strategy that integrates "Industry + Technology + Culture." At the first Global Enterprise Summit on Building a High-Quality "Belt and Road" Initiative hosted by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), GEM presented two benchmark achievements: the China-Indonesia Joint Research Laboratory for New Energy Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Technology, and the "GEM-UNU Yogyakarta" China-Indonesia Future Metallurgy Institute. QMB passed the assessment of four major modules under the International Labour Organization's SCORE project, making it the Chinese overseas enterprise that has completed the highest number of SCORE assessment modules. Through the "Enterprise + Village Company + Villagers" employment support model, the company has helped Indonesian villagers establish multiple local village-run enterprises, enabling them to achieve poverty alleviation and prosperity, transitioning from short-term "blood transfusion"-style charitable donations and material aid to "blood-building"-style support centered on industrial empowerment, activating the endogenous momentum for community development. The company actively promotes cultural integration, fully respecting local religious culture and customs, building high-standard prayer rooms and sports facilities for communities, and renovating community roads, farmers' markets, and other infrastructure to effectively improve community living environments, achieving shared growth with Indonesia.
GEM's ESG achievements have gained extensive recognition both domestically and internationally, having been honored with awards including the Global Environment Facility Demonstration Enterprise, the World Economic Forum Award for Circular Economy Multinational, the Paulson Prize for Sustainability, the "Case Enterprise on Path Toward Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality" at COP30, the Fortune China ESG Impact List, and has been selected as a constituent of the Hang Seng (China A) Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index (HSCASUSB) for four consecutive years. The company's ESG ratings have continued to improve, with a CSA score of 50 from S&P Global, ranking in the top 19% of the industry; and its CDP ratings have consistently risen, achieving a B rating in both Climate Change and Water Security, surpassing the global industry average, fully demonstrating the company's comprehensive strength and industry leadership in sustainable development.
Embarking on a New Journey: Co-building a Green Value Chain Ecosystem
Taking this AA-level rating as a new starting point, GEM will continue to deepen its management across all ESG dimensions, proactively play a leading role as an industry benchmark, and strengthen collaboration throughout the supply chain. The company aims to jointly build a more resilient, greener, and fully compliant value chain ecosystem, contributing solid "GEM power" to the high-quality and sustainable development of the global new energy industry.
