April 22, 2026 — The 57th World Earth Day arrived as scheduled. While the world focused on the theme "Our Power, Our Planet," GEM has been taking concrete actions to answer the call of our time. GEM has always maintained that ESG is not just a report—it is a code of action etched into the very fabric of who we are. From Jingmen, China, to QMB in Indonesia, and from laboratories to local communities, GEM's industrial parks across the globe launched a series of Earth Day activities under the theme: "Circularity is Power, Action Protects the Earth."

Honoring the Earth – Opening Our Doors and Making Circularity Tangible

The best education comes through experience. GEM has brought the concept of circularity into the classroom, giving the public a direct, hands-on encounter with the miracle of resource regeneration.

At the Jingmen Low-Carbon Industrial Park, the National "Urban Mining" Museum welcomed teachers and students from Mingquan Primary School. From hands-on experiments to e-waste collection, the children made green pledges through puzzle challenges, planting the seeds of the circular economy's transformative potential.

At the Shenzhen Super Green Technology Research Institute, the entire Class of 2025 Yun Jin 13 from Wen Hui School visited GEM's Shenzhen headquarters. The students toured the Urban Mining Museum and R&D Center, immersing themselves in the secrets of e-waste recycling. The experience deepened young people's understanding of the circular economy while fostering public trust in green technology enterprises.

At the Wuhan Low-Carbon Circular Economy Industrial Park, discarded auto parts transformed into "Transformers" art installations captivated students from Hubei University. At the green market's item swap area, a simple exchange—"I've read this book three times—I hope it finds someone who will love it next"—infused the circular economy with warmth and poetry.

At the Wuxi and Taixing industrial parks, immersive experiences ranged from kindergartners properly disposing of used batteries to primary students witnessing the transformation of "waste batteries into cobalt." The lesson that resource conservation is vital was no longer an abstract appeal, but a visible, tangible inspiration.

Global Action – Spreading Green Seeds Across Borders

In Indonesia, GEM is not only building green factories but also fostering green communities. Through a dual-drive approach combining education and hands-on practice, QMB and IGIP are sowing the seeds of green development in local communities.

For World Earth Day, QMB visited Bahodopi Middle School, where students learned about green energy firsthand by building waterwheel models. Meanwhile, IGIP invited environmental experts from the Morowali Regency Environmental Agency to Sambalagi and Were'ea villages, providing systematic training on plastic reduction, pollution control, and resource recycling to 20 student representatives and 20 community residents.

From classrooms to villages, GEM's green initiatives have earned high recognition from local authorities. During the activities, the Morowali Regency Environmental Agency presented an honorary award to IGIP. The recognition validates GEM's environmental efforts and showcases the green commitment of Chinese enterprises along “the Belt and Road”.
