For those who share the same vision, distances are never an obstacle! On April 11, 2026, GEM successfully hosted an investment exchange with guests from Indonesia's Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry in Beijing. More than ten high-ranking Indonesian guests, including Mr. Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry / Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, and Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China, joined Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM, and other Chinese representatives. Centered on the theme of industrial and cultural integration, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on nickel resources and downstream industry development, green industrial park construction, and talent cultivation. They explored new investment opportunities between China and Indonesia, committing to grow together with Indonesia. This exchange was built upon advancing the implementation of the Framework Agreement for a 66,000-ton Nickel Metal Hydrometallurgical Green Project signed between Indonesia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, Danantara, and GEM on August 25, 2025, injecting strong momentum into the company's development of nickel resources and the downstream industry in Indonesia.

Long-term Commitment Rooted in Indonesia: Three Major Achievements Chart a New Chapter of Cooperation
Chairman Xu Kaihua systematically presented to the visiting guests GEM's three major achievements from its investment and development in Indonesia since 2019, advancing the green transformation of Indonesia's nickel industry, talent cultivation, and technological progress. First, industrial achievement: GEM, together with global industrial chain partners, built the QMB “Technology + Intelligence + Green” high-tech nickel resource industrial park, establishing Indonesia’s first full-industry-chain base from laterite nickel ore to high-nickel ternary precursors, effectively promoting the green transformation of Indonesia's nickel industry. Second, talent cultivation achievement: GEM, in collaboration with the Indonesian government and Central South University, launched the China-Indonesia Joint Master’s Program in Metallurgical Engineering. To date, 266 top Indonesian students have been recruited to study in China across majors including metallurgical engineering, rail transit, and international trade, building a valuable pool of industrial technicians for Indonesia. Third, technological cooperation achievement: GEM invested USD 30 million to establish the world-class China-Indonesia Joint Research Laboratory in Bandung, which has become a key national innovation base for Indonesia, supporting the country's industrial green transformation.

Building a Green Zero-Carbon Park to Achieve Shared Community Prosperity
Chairman Xu Kaihua used a real-time remote feed to showcase the construction progress of the company-led IGIP (Indonesia Green Industrial Park) project in Indonesia, presenting the newly built community scenes that integrate Chinese and Indonesian cultures. A landmark community clock tower, high-standard community sports facilities, a stately and elegant community mosque, brand-new community concrete roads, and employee living quarters have been completed one after another. A new, high-standard community blending Chinese and Indonesian cultures has risen in just eight months, demonstrating the park's determination to grow and prosper alongside the local people. Seeing the community infrastructure and living facilities within the IGIP built to such high standards in such a short time, Minister Rosan was deeply impressed and full of praise, repeatedly exclaiming, "This is GEM speed!"
How delightful it is to have friends coming from afar! In his welcome address, Chairman Xu Kaihua highly commended Minister Rosan as a steadfast leader and promoter of China-Indonesia industrial cooperation and cultural exchange. He stated that investing in Indonesia was the right choice, and the country has a favorable investment climate. GEM's investment success in Indonesia would not have been possible without the long-term, strong support and assistance of Minister Rosan and Indonesia's Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry. He called Minister Rosan "a trusted brother and a true partner." The IGIP, which GEM is leading the construction of, is a world-class green and low-carbon park for nickel resources, downstream industries, and the circular economy, developed in partnership with Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund Danantara, Indonesian state-owned enterprise PT. Vale Indonesia, and South Korea's EcoPro. With its fully green design philosophy and zero-carbon operational model, the IGIP is set to become a lighthouse for Indonesia's industrial green transformation and another major milestone in the shared growth of Chinese enterprises and Indonesia.
Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM, delivering the welcome address
In his speech, Minister Rosan first highly affirmed and expressed gratitude for GEM's industrial contributions, talent cultivation, and technological cooperation achievements in Indonesia. He stated that GEM is a true partner in Indonesia's green industry development, not only leading the world in laterite nickel ore processing but also cultivating a large number of high-level engineering technicians for Indonesia. In his inscription, he praised GEM for "setting a benchmark for Indonesia's green transformation." His Excellency Rosan particularly noted his strong approval of IGIP's fully green design concept and zero-carbon operational model, and expressed genuine awe at the project's construction progress, especially the accomplishments in community co-development. He clearly stated that the Indonesian government will fully support the construction and development of the IGIP and will support its application to become a National Special Economic Zone.

Minister Rosan also shared Indonesia's latest policies on energy transition. He stated that Indonesia is accelerating the transformation of its energy structure from traditional fossil fuels to green energy. Given the country's approximately 130 million motorcycles and annual new demand of about 9 million units, the government will accelerate the implementation of trade-in and electrification policies, while simultaneously developing large-scale charging infrastructure. He welcomed outstanding companies like GEM to deeply participate in Indonesia's green industry development through joint ventures and other forms of cooperation.
Joining Hands to Promote Coordinated Development of the Industrial Chain
This exchange event also invited outstanding Chinese companies including CALB, Jingjin Equipment, and Xi'an Pump & Valve to participate, further expanding the diversified and ecological development paths for China-Indonesia green industry cooperation. The exchange deepened mutual understanding and friendship, injected strong momentum into the construction and development of the new IGIP project, and further strengthened the confidence of Chinese enterprises in investing and developing in Indonesia!
Looking ahead, GEM and other Chinese enterprises are willing to join hands with Indonesia to cross mountains and seas and create a better future. Through an investment model integrating industry and culture, we aim to help realize the "Golden Indonesia 2045" vision and promote the everlasting brotherhood between China and Indonesia!
