Used Batteries Collection System

GEM has built the largest used batteries centralized recycling network dominated by recycling points for end-of-life batteries through the used implementation of battery recycling bins points in schools, communities and streets as well as recycling points ofwithin the Chinese trade network in China.

More than 25000 recycling bins have been installed in the provinces of Hubei , Guangdong , Jiangxi ,or special administrative regions such as Tianjin , etc, and the ., with a total covered area which have coverd is overof about 200,000 square kilometers. More than 100 launch ceremonies were undertaken. Almost 3,000 communities, more than 500 schools and universities, 1,000 government agencies and 10,000 people have participated in the ceremonies. It made the small waste battery recovery of China increase to over 10% from less than 1% in 2006 and the annual amounts of recycling batteries reach over 11000 tons. And then the Wuhan model and the Pearl Delta model dominated by primary and secondary schools of the co-action of government and enterprises as well as paid battery recycling of China have been established.

During December 2006 to December 2007, Shenzhen Municipal Government, Shenzhen Education Burea, Zhuhai Education Burea, Zhongshan Education Burea combined with GEM CO.,LTD started on the waste battery recycling system for primary and secondary schools and attracted nearly 50000 students to participate in by Propaganda , reward, accumulating points and so on which greatly popularized environmental protection concept of classification recycling.

Tianjin wastebatteries recycling model

On the 46th Earth Day, celebrated April 22, 2015, GEM (Tianjin) combined with Tianjin environmental protection bureau to start waste battery recycling at Tianjin. The recycling programme was divided into three stages: From March, 2015 to April 22nd, 2015, the project was conducted in Tianjin, Jinghai and some other areas as pilot areas. From April 22, 2015 to September, 2015, the project was conducted at Tianjin green schools and government agencies. From September, 2015 to December, 2015, the project was conducted at colleges , universities and other other units like supermarkets in TianJin.The installation of waste batteries recycling bins of Tianjin communities was launched in 2016.The launch of used batteries recycling programme was another important measures for GEM to implement the used batteries recycling plan nationally.

Wuhan city circle waste battery recycling model

The Hubei province Environmental Protection Authority combined with nine countriesregional cities (8+1) offrom the Wuhan city circle started onto launch the waste battery recycling programme which coveredcovering the Wuhan city circle and Hubei province, the most influential, impactful and widest programme of its kind involving an entrepreneurial partnership along government-led guidelines. includingThe programme includes the installation of over 10000 battery recycling bins and 1000 Commercial recycling exchange outlets which coveredcovering over 30 counties and cities ofin Hubei province.

Initiatively paying for the acquisitionsAs a government-led initiative, recovering is compensated by uniting Governmenta joint effort together with involved recycling companycompanies.

Citizens can use unsedrecovering batteries tofor exchange for the commodity valued as a dime and get a dime subsidy.monetary compensation for their effort: 90% of the subsidycompensation is undertakensubsidized by the government and the restremaining 10% is undertaken byare from the recycling company.

Exploring the cooperation of Batteryfor the Producer Extended Responsibility System on batteries

The cooperationcircular economy model process of “Production - recycling - processing – remanufacturing circular process Recycling - Processing –Remanufacturing” was explored by combining closely together with Duracell , NanFu , Fansocompanies and other battery manufacturers and such as Duracell, NanFu or Fanso, in order to successively provied theprovide production, circulation and environmental protection processing services for end-of waste-life batteries produced during the production and circulation .
