In order to fully support the dual platforms of national science and technology innovation and research institute and other innovation systems, an international advanced recycling technology laboratory has been built, and more than 50 sets of large-scale international advanced instruments have been introduced, which can conduct comprehensive inspection and research on material composition, particle size, microstructure, surface molecular composition and function, accurately and quickly inspect various materials, guiding material procurement, research and development and production, and creating a public technology platform in the field of waste recycling and new energy materials that affects the whole world, serving the country and supporting the industry.
Analysis and Inspection Center of Chinese National WEEE Recycling Engineering Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) was established in 2005, formerly known as the testing center of Jingmen GEM New Materials Co., Ltd., is mainly engaged in monitoring the quality, environment and waste recycling of all chemical materials in the company. With the increase of testing ability and popularity, the Center was upgraded to “Hubei Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center of Urban Mineral Resources Recycling” in 2012. It started to operate independently in 2013, and obtained CNAS certificate issued by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment and CMA certificate issued by the Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision. In 2016, it obtained “Hubei Famous Brand” certificate in service industry, led and participated in the formulation of 30 national and industry standards, and served the society for the purpose of providing testing services to the public. Its business services include: research and testing of electronic waste recycling, research and testing of key technologies for the recycling of rare and precious metals and rare earth and solid waste and the testing of new battery materials.
At present, the laboratory of the “Center”covers an area of 3600 square meters and an office of about 400 square meters. With total investment of over 50 million, it has more than 300 sets of advanced detection equipment at home and abroad, such as an X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (Japan, 1 set), X-ray diffractometer (Japan, 1 set), atomic absorption spectrometers (Japan, 4 sets, Persee, 6 sets), inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometers (Germany, 2 sets, Japan, 4 sets, the United States, 1 set), scanning electron microscope (USA, 1 set, and equipped with energy spectrum and grinding instrument, KYKY, 1 set), carbon and sulfur analyzers (Germany, 3 sets), oxygen and nitrogen analyzers (Germany, 2 sets), laser particle size analyzers (UK, 8 sets), specific surface analyzers (USA, 3 sets, JWGB, 3 sets), DC arc (USA, 1 set), GC-MS (Japan, 1 set), total organic carbon (Japan, 1 set), etc. It is a public technology platform with CNAS certification and CMA certification, and is one of the important public testing technology platforms in Hubei Province. There are more than 100 technical personnel and 26 management personnel, including 3 senior engineers, accounting for 12%, 5 intermediate engineers, accounting for 19%, and 7 assistant workers, accounting for 27%.
