On December 15, 2018 GEM Co., Ltd. 2018 post-doctoral stand out report meeting and 2018 post-doctoral research proposal meeting was held at GEM headquarters in Shenzhen. The report meeting was conducted by an expert assessment team composed of Professor Guo Xueyi, Vice President of Central South University, Professor Liu Qibin of Guizhou University, Professor Hu Zhiquan of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Yuan Liangjie and Professor Cao Yuliang of Wuhan University, and Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM Co., Ltd. The vice president of Central South University Professor Guo Xueyi served as the leader of the assessment team and reviewed the stand out scientific reports of two post-doctoral fellows Ye Jian and Sheng Guanghong, and four post-doctoral research proposals from Lei Jie, Xie Lan, Du Ke, and Xu Pengyun. Director Zhou Kuanshan, Director of the Postdoctoral Management Office of Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, attended the meeting.
Ye Jian and Sheng Guanghong, two postdoctoral fellows, reported the research work of the project to the assessment team, with the topics of "Recycle and Utilization of Cathode Materials of Waste Lithium Ion Batteries" and "Research on Recovery and Utilization of Magnesium Resources in Metallurgical Waste Residues" respectively. The appraisal team put forward suggestions and revised guidance on the stand out reports of the two doctors, and unanimously agreed that the postdoctoral stand out of Ye Jian and Sheng Guanghong and gave an "A" for their reports. Lei Jie, Xie Lan, Du Ke and Xu Pengyun made postdoctoral reports on the opening of project to the assessment team with the topics of "Toxicity Evaluation and Stabilization Technology of Cobalt-Nickel Leaching Slag", "Preparation and Basic Application of New Wood-Plastic Foam Composites", "Efficient Separation and Recovery of Tungsten, Cobalt and Nickel from Alkaline Leaching Tungsten Slag", and "Research on Washing and Chromium Removal Technology and Engineering Practice of a Laterite Nickel Mine in Indonesia". The appraisal team put forward important suggestions and revisions for each doctors' research proposals, and unanimously agreed that four postdoctoral fellows Lei Jie, Xie Lan, Du Ke, and Xu Pengyun to carry out their proposals.
The six postdoctoral fellows were jointly trained by Wuhan University Mobile Postdoctoral Station, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Mobile Postdoctoral Station, Central South University Mobile Postdoctoral Station, Zhejiang University Mobile Postdoctoral Station, and GEM Co., Ltd. Postdoctoral Research Station.
As the in-station instructor of the six postdoctors , Chairman Xu Kaihua expressed his gratitude to the experts for coming to the GEM post-doctoral stand out and research proposal meetings, and thanked the Shenzhen government for its high attention and strong support to post-doctoral work, and said that GEM will continue to try harder to increase the number of post-doctoral entrants, to train more high-level talents for China's circular economy industry, and to fulfill the mission of green development. Chairman Xu Kaihua emphasized that the doctors of GEM should transform "doctor" into "all-rounder" and be able to apply theoretical knowledge they have mastered to production practice, so as to better serve production and benefit.
Director Zhou Kuanshan praised the work carried out by the GEM post-doctoral workstation. He believed that the GEM post-doctoral project is of strategic height and guiding significance, and encouraged GEM to cooperate with more famous universities and research institutes to train post-doctoral fellows, promote industry-university-research cooperation, and promote the transformation of scientific research results, making greater contributions to the postdoctoral work in Shenzhen.
