On January 30, 2021, GEM 2020 Post-doctoral Station Exit Symposium & 2019 Post-doctoral Interim Progress Symposium & 2020 Post-doctoral Dissertation Proposal Symposium were held in GME Shenzhen headquarters. Expert Review Panel included Prof. Chen Jianjun from the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen, Prof. Guo Xueyi, Vice President of Central South University, Prof. Lai Yanqing from Central South University, Prof. Chen Ming from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Lu Zhouguang from Southern University of Science and Technology, and GEM Board Chairman Prof. Xu Kaihua. Prof. Chen Jianjun from the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen worked as the head of the Panel. They reviewed the station-exit reports of Yi Qingping, Lei Jie, Du Ke and Xu Pengyun, the interim progress reports of Xiao Li, Hua Wenchao, Shi Yang and He Rui, and the dissertation proposal reports of Yang Xing, Ma Xingxing and Song Huawei.

The panel put forward suggestions and modification guidance for the above post doctors’ exit, interim and dissertation proposal reports, unanimously agreed that Yi Qingping, Lei Jie, Du Ke and Xu Pengyun can exit the station and graded them as Excellent. They also unanimously agreed that Yang Xing, Ma Xingxing and Song Huawei can start the dissertation.

As the instructor of 11 postdoctoral candidates, GEM Board Chairman Prof. Xu Kaihua expressed his gratitude to all experts for their presence and on-line attendance at the GEM Postdoctoral Symposium. He pointed out the only way to innovate is to get talents. The corporate postdoctoral system is an important system to strengthen the cooperation between enterprises, universities and research institutes, and to promote the technological innovation system and capacity-building with enterprises as the main body. He stressed that post doctors are the most innovative senior innovative group and the main force of national major sci-tech innovation and projects. Corporate postdoctoral workstation has become an important advanced innovation platform with enterprises as the main body. GEM is very pleased that these post doctoral candidates who have just stepped out of colleges and universities can quickly integrate into the diligence culture of GEM, either go deep into the grass-roots front line of the company, or take root in overseas projects. In the future, GEM will continue to increase its postdoctoral training efforts, recruit and train a number of excellent postdoctoral talents, engage in research and development of cutting-edge core technologies of green industry, and help promote the high-quality development of China’s cycle economy. In the end, Professor Xu Kaihua wished all post doctors a beautiful start, a wonderful year, and a bumper harvest of more innovative achievements in 2021.
