On July 14, 2020, Wang Changsong, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Disciplinary Committee, accompanied by Shi Lijun, Secretary of the Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, and Liu Zhiming, Secretary of the Taixing Municipal Party Committee, visited the GEM Taixing Industrial Park. During the visit, Secretary Wang and the delegation comprehended company’s epidemic prevention and control, resumption of production, and company development related issues. Professor Xu Kaihua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the GEM warmly welcomed Secretary Wang Changsong and the delegation.

Secretary Wang Changsong and the delegation visited the world’s first cobalt industry museum built by GEM. During the visit, Chairman Xu Kaihua introduced that GEM Taixing Industrial Park has realized the development from basic materials to strategic metals and special alloys to the "New Energy blood" transformation and upgrading extension of the industrial chain on cobalt products. Chairman Xu Kaihua also mentioned that GEM has donated more than 6.5 million RMB in cash and materials to help Hubei and Jiangsu to fight the COVID-19 during the epidemic and achieved gratifying performance of "preventing the epidemic, maintaining the production and increasing sales against the down trend." In response to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s idea of “building a community with a shared future for mankind”, GEM urgently assisted overseas partners such as Pohang City Government of South Korea, Indonesian Government, Umicore of Belgium, URT of Germany and other overseas partners with 3 million RMB of medical protective materials to help friends in the global supply chain to fight the epidemic.

During the visit, Chairman Xu Kaihua also reported to Secretary Wang Changsong that the GEM Taixing Industrial Park is actively carrying out green transformation, implementing the construction of the “six transformations” factory. Fully implement the transformation and upgrading of green industry, realize innovation upgrade, practice cultural upgrade and build a green enterprise with output value, civilization and sentiment. He also expressed his gratitude to Secretary Wang Changsong to all levels of government in Jiangsu Province and expressed his sincere sigh: Jiangsu\'s investment environment is very good! All levels of governments dare to take responsibility, the market environment is in good order and treat business as friends and enterprise can make profit in this good environment!

After listening to Chairman Xu Kaihua’s briefing, Secretary Wang Changsong said that enterprises’ development and making profitable returns are what the government wants to see most. GEM has achieved a comprehensive upgrade of safety, environmental protection, factories and workshops through all-round transformation. Such a company will inevitably be loved by employees and supported by all sectors of society. It will definitely develop better and better and become World’s benchmark enterprise in cobalt products and new energy materials!
